PADI Discover Scuba Diving

PADI Discover Scuba Diving

PADI offers a program called Discover Scuba Diving which is designed for people who want to experience scuba diving for the first time. It's often referred to as a try dive or an introductory dive.

During a PADI Discover Scuba Diving experience, you'll receive a basic introduction to scuba diving theory and safety guidelines from a PADI-certified instructor. The session typically begins with a briefing that covers essential concepts, equipment usage, and safety procedures.

Once the briefing is complete, you'll be provided with scuba gear, including a mask, fins, a buoyancy control device (BCD), a regulator, and a tank. The instructor will guide you through the process of putting on and adjusting the equipment to ensure a comfortable fit.

After you're geared up, you'll enter a shallow pool or confined water area, where you'll practice a few essential skills, such as breathing underwater, clearing your mask, and equalizing your ears. The instructor will be present to assist and guide you through these exercises, ensuring your safety and comfort.

Once you're comfortable with the skills practice, such all in a swimming pool or a shallow, controlled dive site. During this dive, you'll have the opportunity to explore the underwater world, while accompanied closely by your instructor.

It is important to note that a PADI Discover Scuba Diving experience does not result in a certification. It is solely an introductory program to give you a taste of scuba diving. However, if you enjoy the experience and wish to pursue scuba diving further, you can enroll in a PADI Open Water Diver course, which is a certification program.
